Initial Ideas
As a group we decided to think on a range of ideas and scenarios for out chair. The more specific the idea the bette. It will be tailor the client making our chair the ideal seat of the client. at first we said we should each come up with 10 scenarios or activities the client will be doing to help us influence our chair designs. After we all shared or 10 ideas we could agree on our top 3 and come to a common agreement. We found that after discussing it throughly that we all liked 5 main ideas. The 5 ideas which we liked are:
1. A chair for students who enjoy to sit comfortably whilst reading.
2. A chair which can support an architecture student whilst they draw on their drawing board.
3. A chair which allows yoga/meditation.
4. An individual just before a job interview.
5. A chair/bench at an art gallery which allowed viewers to take the weight of their legs.

Our Current Design Brief
The design is aimed at a person who is a beginner or amateur at yoga with regards to meditation. There isn't any specific pose for when meditating but the one mostly associated to it is the seating, with your back straight at an angle of 90 degrees, keeping ergonomics in mind this design will help a beginner to be able to stay for a long period of time as some meditation last for 2 hours or even more.
Quick Models
After we came to a short design brief we decided to individually create small machete designs from scrap cardboard or paper. They were many different designs, ideas and shapes. These are 3 of the designs made that day which we could hopefully the designs may be used for our final design.
Research
Determining Measurements
In the UK the percentage yoga practitioners are 72.2% yoga women female and male men are 27.8%. The majority of yoga is clearly female practitioners and this is why we took the female average measurements largely into account. This is why it was important to base my designs to the female average size. Although, we done research and recently men have been currently doing yoga as its trendy and it helps flexibility. This is why i also have the dimensions for both male and female.

The Art of Folding Cardboard
We decided to complete research into the Japanese art of origami. This is because we had to produce a cardboard hair without using any adhesive, additional materials or joining techniques. I thought possible if we look into origami then we can possible use the idea to complete our chair using cardboard. The idea would be to have a chair simply designed around origami and if the design needed some strengthen then we can add extra support.
Our Main Focus
This particular yoga posture is hopefully the shape we are aiming for. After much research we discovered that a posture which helps lift up the bottom of the group can make the experience much comfortable. The bottom of the bum should be in line with the top of ur foot. The chair should allow the beginner to have a comfortable experience whilst they learn to adjust to the yoga routine.
